One of my challenges to myself is to take as many yoga classes as I can. I want to learn everything that I can. There is nothing better as a yoga instructor to take classes from other instructors. You gain so much wisdom and insight from those that have been at it longer than you. Every instructor is so different. I have taken classes from quite a few instructors but I have a favorite. I might regret saying that but it’s true. I’m in love with a lady named Debbie. LOL! She’s amazing. Truly amazing. Debbie is the reason that I chose to go to yoga school. She saw something in me that I didn’t see and she encouraged me to follow my journey. Now that I am finished with school taking Debbie’s classes have been so therapeutic for me. It’s my crave. I love it. She pushes me in a way that I need to be pushed and I feel like I learn a new pose with every class. Over the weekend I took two of her classes because I get the pleasure of subbing for her flow class on Saturday so I wanted to make sure I didn’t leave anything out. We worked on baby grasshopper pose which was amazing. I did yoga for about 8 hours total over the weekend and lemme tell ya, my hips are FEELIN’ IT!
My bestie, Bailey, came with me on Saturday morning and stayed right in it the whole time. Let’s take a small detour for a hot second so that I can brag on my girl. THIS GIRL. She just started taking yoga when I started teaching like a month ago. In ONE month she is where I was after about a year of practice. She pours her entire heart and soul into her practice and it really shows. I love her so much. Being about to share this deep deep passion with her ad watching her take flight in her own journey fills my heart with so much joy that I can hardly stand it! She worked on her baby grasshopper all day and then sent me this pic. Isn’t she just ah-damn-dorable?! Love ya B!
It really was a great weekend. Lots of yoga AND I bought a small singing bowl! Yay! Now I feel all official and what-not. It is really cute and super powerful. Like me! HA! Kidding, kidding. It’s like Bailey! This weekend gave us the nest of weather. It was really windy but it was warm wind that was ever so perfect. I may have taken a windy selfie before heading into one of my classes.
Sunday night was a blast. I had a 6pm flow class and only 1 person came. This happens in yoga, a lot. It’s not uncommon to not have anyone show up but at the last minute my friend Cait arrived so we had a little private session and it was A BLAST! She is hilarious and just the most vivacious soul ever. She is inquisitive and so eager to learn. After our class we played around with some poses, took pictures and laughed A LOT.
All in all it was a grand weekend. Couldn’t have been better. Plus I got some sweet snuggle time in with my shuga bear. Love that kid! Here’s to a wonderful, productive, and happy week! Don’t forget to check out my class tonight at 5 and 6:30 at EPIC Coffee! Namaste!
Love love love,
